Wine Not?

by Anna Polsfut

Relief printmaking is a process in which the artist carves a design into a linoleum or wooden block (usually) and uses it as a large stamp. Ink is rolled onto the design before it is pressed onto the paper either by hand or by printing press. This particular piece took me about 8 hours to carve and print. Each print is slightly different from the next as there is no guarantee how the ink will appear on the paper. This makes each piece exciting and original!
