The full title of this piece is ‘The warm embrace of sea and sun’ but I refer to it as ‘Warm Embrace’ for short. The dramatic energy of the sun seen through the water is punctuated by metallic shimmers scattered within the highly textured and layered surface of this painting. It expresses the feeling of being embraced by the sun and the wave when resurfacing.
