Noel Bay Beach

by Barbara Page

This beach is a “local” beach in that it is known mostly only to those who grew up there, or folks who live there presently or have lived there in the past. It is a beautiful beach in a protected little bay of the Bay of Fundy. The water is warm and swimming is delightful when the tide is in. When the tide is out, you’d have quite a hike to reach the water, given the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. This view is across the bay looking towards Burntcoat Head, where you can dine on the ocean floor at low tide! The area is steeped in history and local folklore says that Captain Kidd once came ashore just around the corner for repairs to his ship and may have left a little something buried somewhere!!
