My journey to creating Modern Macrame
I was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec and grew up in several countries, including Mexico, Pakistan, Turkey, Peru and Switzerland. I moved to Southwestern Ontario for University and have stayed in this area ever since. I studied philosophy and nutritional sciences at university and worked in healthcare for a number of years. About 10 years ago I began my journey of awakening and intuitively-guided artistic expression.
Until 2021 I created primarily with acrylic paints but more recently I started working with natural cotton rope which I am thoroughly enjoying. I love the textural richness and the ability to layer with this medium. My subject is nature, mostly leaves, trees and flowers, with a semi-abstract approach because I love to leave some things to your imagination.
When I am not creating art, I enjoy spending time with my family - husband and three sons - our dog, walking in nature, reading, in meditation and contemplation.
My acrylic paintings were displayed and sold in several galleries and juried art shows in Chatham, London, Waterloo and at Stratford's Art-in-the-Park for several years. In early 2022 we moved to St Thomas, ON where my "MODERN MACRAME" is making its debut locally and online.
